Nuclear Power Cannot Solve the Climate Crisis
The long awaited Environmental Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act review report has been released today. The report does not recommend the removal of prohibitions to nuclear power. The report does however support the further devolution of powers to assess uranium mines while maintaining some federal powers to intervene. Environment Groups have urged caution over the new approach to regulating uranium mines – a system which could further weaken regulations. Groups have called for an independent inquiry into the costs and benefits of uranium mining.
